From April 2024, Hannan University will present a new face to the world, restructuring its faculties with the aim of equipping you with the qualities and skills you will need in a rapidly changing world. A new building with cutting edge facilities will also open providing you with the best environment possible to achieve your goals for the future.
With a total of four faculties and five departments, Hannan University will continue to evolve with you as a university offering a comprehensive education that integrates the arts and sciences and that also offers practical education and training with a focus on what the world needs now and will need in the future.

Faculty of International Studies

Become your ideal self through learning in four specialized areas with a strong focus on advanced foreign language proficiency.

In the Department of International Communication, you will study communication from various perspectives while aiming to acquire high-level foreign language proficiency. The main languages are English, Korean, and Chinese. In addition to foreign language skills, you will acquire broad knowledge of foreign cultures and the global community, media-based information dissemination techniques, knowledge of psychology to enrich interpersonal relationships so you can demonstrate the communication skills you will need in a modern globalized society. Become who you want to be through independent study in a variety of programs tailored to your individual needs.

Take advantage of the exposure to city planning, culture, the tourism business, and other aspects that only a city of tourism can offer to help you learn the practical skills to create new value in the global community.

Your study of economics will provide you with knowledge of economic structures and institutions that you will need no matter what career path you pursue or how drastically the world changes. The Department of Economics also groups major courses into 10 packages, allowing you to choose the package that corresponds to your career goals, for example, working in finance or civil service. Acquire the specialized knowledge and skills that you will need in your industry and occupation. Furthermore, you will develop problem-solving skills and a broad perspective through fieldwork and other components of practical studies.

In the Department of Management in the Faculty of Management, you can study the theory and practice of management, accounting, marketing, and information and communication technology (ICT), all of which are indispensable for running companies. In addition, by studying about companies in Japan and around the world, you can acquire a broad international perspective. Furthermore, you can also learn about unique specialty areas like fashion brands and sports from a management perspective. In our rapidly digitizing modern world, nearly all aspects of our lives are digitized and stored as data, from our travel by car and train to our behavior as consumers and our activity on social media. Businesses are utilizing this massive amount of data to create a more convenient, prosperous world.
In the Faculty of Information Sciences, you will learn how to analyze, produce and apply digital content in business and sports settings, based on the study of the technological building blocks of this new social reality: AI, data science, and information systems. By planning and managing e-sports tournaments and other events undertaken by the entire faculty, you will enhance your business acumen and technical sensibilities, and develop the overall skills you need to contribute to society.
