国際コミュニケーション学部生４名が“Virtual English Forum for Ideas”に参加しました
10月19日に“Virtual English forum for Ideas”がスチューデント・コモンズで開催されました。この英語フォーラムの開催目的は、6月のJUEMUN (日本大学英語模擬国連、国際コミュニケーション学部生の参加する様子は →こちら。そこで出会った他大学の友達と再会して新しいアイデアを互いにシェアするということです。実際、阪南大学JUEMUN2015チームのメンバーたちは、ネット会議の形で、静岡文化芸術大学JUEMUN2015チームのメンバーたちと活発な意見交換をしました。
阪南大学チームは英語プレゼンテーション（「プレゼンテーション・タイトル一覧」をご覧ください）を行った後、静岡文化芸術大学チームから建設的なフィードバッグと質問を受け、応答しました。
この英語フォーラムを準備するために、参加学生は夏休み前に、本プロジェクトの責任者であるMark Sheehan准教授（国際コミュニケーション学部）と王凌准教授（経済学部）から、プレゼンテーションに関する研究課題をもらいました。夏休み明けてから、数回勉強会を開き、皆一緒に発表内容を練り、本番の発表に臨みました。
今回の“Virtual English Forum for Ideas”では、参加学生は目標を達成するために自ら取り組む積極的な姿勢が窺われました。

Students who took part in the JUEMUN 2015 Conference and the Virtual English Forum for Ideas Conference had a number of different learning opportunities. JUEMUN participation provided students with a chance to research and discuss global issues at a challenging academic event. As a follow-up to JUEMUN, students did research on a topic of their choice, or on something inspired by their JUEMUN experience. After gathering information, students created presentations, and then presented their ideas to students and teachers at the English and Chinese Language Education Center at Shizuoka University of Art and Culture using video conferencing software. Learning how to deal with technology and other issues related to video conferencing was a valuable experience that will serve students well when they take part in other projects.
The desire to communicate is strong among the team members of this project. Once the first step is taken, it gets easier, and more fun to share ideas, present interesting information, and take part in Question and Answer sessions. I look forward to seeing the students’ continued efforts to participate in international events.
